More adorable outtakes! |Tempe Family Photographer

The outtakes from my recent sessions have had me giggling...OUTLOUD!

I couldn't resist sharing a few of the funny moments and giggle together.

Last week I met up with a family with three kids...one set of newly 3 year old twins and their 5year old brother. When photographing this age range...it's a sure deal to have fun moments.
About halfway through the session, sweet little E pulled one of the flowers out, sprinkled herself with dirt and we all laughed. I was happy to capture that.
There is nothing more fun then trying to capture a set of twins together. I love how her brother is just staying behind her but still giving a glimpse of the curiousity of what I'm all about.

Thank you M family for inviting me to your home.

I've already released the gallery to the Gonzales family...but anxious to share a few pictures of two amazing kids I photographed a couple weeks ago.

Last year their mother wanted to schedule a session but my calendar had already been booked tightly. This summer when she contacted me, we were eager to get her a session date. I'm definitely glad I had time with these two this year...they were a complete joy to work with. And, much easier than the little ones I'm typically photographing...which was good, they didn't think I was too funny when I said there was a bug in my camera! {giggle}

Meet Tatum.

Oh, how I just fell in love with her. She has a very quiet spirit and all around just sweet.
Her older brother and I had loads of fun together...he very cooperative. I told him he'd make a great husband one day...
Tee hee...just loved this one!
Ending with a sweet favorite of mine.

Thank you Gonzales family. I loved working with you...I knew we were a great fit during our scheduling chat.

I can't exactly remember just when I met my fellow photographer friend Haleigh....but I do remember our first night out was VERY hot as we were hanging outside of a restaurant chatting about everything in common and sweating like we were in a sauna...WAIT, it was an Arizona summer night.

We've gotten together since then and I like her even more...and a huge bonus as my girls are in love with her daughters. After we had them over for a playdate, I found a little note one of her daughters wrote to my girls. It melted my heart knowing my girls have great girls as friends.

My very sweet friend Haleigh.

Having a little photo time with her family! Just a day before I left for Pinetop I found out she was making a trip up there too....BONUS...I was able to get an extra set of helping hands for a large family session and get to know her entire family.

Of course I have a cute traditional picture of them together...but this is just how they are, full of laughs and smiles!
Haleigh, thanks for your help up north!

I'm giggling happy to write that this is the sweet family that spurred the idea for pictures in the white mountains....with huge thoughts of including the colors of fall into their family pictures.

Working with this family is always great time. The two little men in their family are a blast to hang with...the only regret I have is we didn't get to have our annual game of hide and seek after their session. I'm thinking I owe them a super fun game.

I absolutely loved this house that was up on the hill. When walking around the property, I was curious why the buildings were on top of large boulders.

There's nothing better than the giggles captured when a kiss is involved.
Sweet J is growing up faster than I like to realize. It seems with each family I remeet for a session...I'm always caught of guard when I hear they're older than their age in my mind. If you asked each family I've worked with this fall....there's lots of giggles when I'm corrected on the real age of the kids...apparently everyone isn't staying as young as I remember them.

They're also growing up faster than I'd like to accept. This little guy and I were having a fun game of "name that color" during our time together...love playing little games while taking pictures.
To the W family...once again, I loved my time with you and your boys. I'm especially thrilled to have their daddy in front of my camera!

{The latest and greatest}
The busy portrait season is definitely in full swing. As my days and nights have been filled with nonstop work, I'm left thankful for the extra time I took to spend with my family this past summer. During my little break, I was reminded of how important it is to not work every single night, how 5-6 hours of sleep each night is definitely not good, and that quality t.v. time is very relaxing for me to unwind. This past Sunday, after two very busy sessions, I took the rest of the day off to play with my kids and have hours in front of the t.v. watching movies with subpar acting and I was VERY happy. I woke up today feeling that more relaxed and ready to tackle another late night.

I have a few families waiting for emails from me...and sadly, I told families I would email them details of sorts...and I'm hoping I remember all that I told. Tonight I'm off to send several emails but if by any chance you're waiting for one and don't hear from me...send me sweet reminder please. These days my brain is functioning on only coffee which is never a good memory jogger! tee hee!

By the way, I'm loving this holiday season more with each session. This season I've been happy with families that make the days and nights filled with work easier. This season things are less stressful for some reason...I'm going to blame it on my horomones being back in check. I swear, every girl should have a "forgiveness card" 18 months after having a baby...I'm totally serious too!
{of course all written with a smile and full sincerity}

With this fall being busy, I'm going to do my best in keeping each of you updated through my blog...but if you're extra curious what the crazies in my day, "like" ME on Facebook and you'll see my sweet face pop up a little more often.

Happy fall season everyone!

Last weekend, my family and I made the trek to the White Mountains to photograph a few families that scheduled with me a while ago. Traveling up north is a family favorite...when I was asked if I was interested in traveling...there wasn't a thought wasted before I said yes.

The weeks prior to these sessions, as a family, we made a trip up north so that I may scout out locations to offer as choices to my clients. I was thrilled when all families selected an old homestead that sits high on a hill...with aspens around.

The first set of families I photographed is always a personal favorite for me to photograph, for a few reasons:
~one of the fathers reminds me of my husband (always makes me work)
~humbled that they continue to ask me to photograph their family
~watching their little ones grow
~getting a glimpse into the monstrous progress a fabulous young man is making
~meeting their extended family
~ MOST importantly, they always make me smile and can roll with the random words that fly out of my mouth

Here are one of the set of siblings....out of the 10 I photographed, two families combined.

Their mother has shared that she'd like to have her kids photographed in their pajamas...squeal...then I suggested bringing some quilts. Imagine the smile I had when she shared her mother quilts...{glass breaking squeal}!

Unfortunately, you can see much of their cute jammers since it was freezing up north by this time in their session.
Here is one of the sweet girls that reminded me of Hilary Duff...seriously, couldn't she almost be a look alike. The best part, she has the personality to match those sweet eyes.
Um...this was one of the families that I was receiving emails during the wardrobe planning stage...LOVE the layers, coordination of colors, and texture.
Huge giggles with this little guy...one of the most mellow 2 year old I've photographed. It was ultra hard to break him of his pirate smile, so we embraced it...WHAT a fun memory from this age. I'm still giggling remembering him....LOVE!
Of course, everyone loves a dandelion blowing picture.

One amazing young lady...who put down her dance shoes for a softball bat. She is one all around talented girl.
I loved my time with these two cousins...best friends!
And the young man that I'm smitten with. Smitten with his tenacity to beat the odds and keep his family proud of him. With the large session of 10, I ended up not getting time with him until the end...I had a brief moment to photograph him and that was all I needed. This session I felt it...we connected and I'm still grinning from the little chit chats we had.

Here's a peace out!

.............................................................
This past week I've been holed up in my office...day and night, during every single second I have.
Along with my passion for photography, I have another jobbity job that has me smiling and fills most of my day hours. I recently looked at my calendar and I had to pick my jaw off the ground...I'm thinking I might move my bed or a comfy matress into my office just to keep up as I loathe being behind.

And on fun note...I just created and ordered my first sets of holiday cards of the year. I'm anxious for them to arrive...the mailman and UPS guy and I are about to get to know eachother real well. The UPS guy and I were on a first name basis at my old house...I'm hoping my new one is just as friendly since he'll be seeing me a lot this season.

This past weekend has been in the planning stages for awhile now...each second of it was perfect. When I started packing on Thursday, it took all of me not to panic...I had a million things running through my head and just had to stop for a second to realize the clients I was about to meet up north were every bit of amazing.

I was literally like a kid in a candy store...in a new area, filled with bold colors, cold temps, and perfect families. I had three full sessions...filled with great times.

One of my highlights was seeing a family I've been fortunate enough to photograph the past few years...and watching two boys grow up. I had to take a moment to giggle...remembering the sessions were I was the one man circus act just to keep them in one spot to now just chatting about what they've been up to. I love these two. I especially love their "all" boy spunk! It's never a dull moment with these guys...I even got a hug in the end.

I just love them...simply love.
{my favorite part of their session was when their mom said..."be careful. make sure you don't hit tami with the bat!"} giggle-LOVE!

Just one of the perks of my job...watching my clients grow up.

.................................................................
Another perk to my job is meeting other great photographers...Haleigh and I met over a month ago. At the last minute, she planned a trip to the white mountains and was able to help me with one of my sessions. I was also able to get a little session in with her at the last minute...each second with her family reminded me why I love her.

This past weekend was beautiful. I'm happy with each second I had with my clients. As I was downloading the hundreds of pictures today...I couldn't help but wonder where in the world I'm going to begin. And to make this weekend better...I came back to the valley to have a session with another amazing family. Honestly, probably one of the fastest sessions I've ever had that wasn't a mini session. Perfect photographic weekend!

I could list a million reasons why I love photography...but it comes down to one basic love...capturing light.

I schedule the majority of my session in the evening hour...while it's not the most ideal for little ones, the lighting is just supreme. Absolutely the light I prefer to shoot with. I could seriously write a love song on my feelings for afternoon light and then sing it completely off key but with ONE big smile! Love ... love ... love!

After I wrapped up a mini session...I had been watching how the lighting was falling in a particular area and my heart began pitter pattering. Even though I knew a sweet little man was very done with my camera time...I couldn't resist pulling him for a few more pictures to play with some light. I was smiling happy that his parents didn't disagree and happily let him jog off with me...seriously, we were running towards the area with me squealing happy!

This was definitely not intended when I scheduled their mini session...but a little bonus they'll get for letting me use their little guy as a model. I love the soft feel in these images...the warmth, texture, and pure sweetness.

Oh to be that cute and have a photograph obsessed with light! Thanks little Max for playing with me and always being so happy!

Meet the Screamin family.

The beautiful blonde, Jenni, is the wonderwoman that keeps this family together and gets them going each day! When preparing for her session, she shared how important it was for her session to take place on her parents property. Along with incorporating the pieces her father has been collected since she was a baby, and probably before that.

I love the stories I've heard about this ultra cool bus...which has been in that very spot for at least 25 years.
I just love the garage...and photographing the oldest grandchild in the garage made this session that more special.

Jake, thanks for being tolerant with me. Even though you might've had thoughts of tackling me and then running with my camera! YOU are simply amazing and growing up to such a handsome man.
................................
On a sweet note...the time with these two was just perfect.
Just after I began shooting, Jenni began to look choked up... there is nothing more special than the love between a mother and her children. I love that I was there for that moment.
Jenni and Jim...you have a beautiful family. Thanks for being amazing as usual. Also for being a fabulous reflector holder, prop mover, camera bag holder and an all around PERFECT family!
