And there were 5 |Queen Creek Child Photographer

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

This sweet group of 5 kids are cousins....I could have spend an entire day just photographing them and been completely content.

Miss C...while I love this sweet smile.
This look of hers is amazing at any angle.
And then her sister Miss T...her giggle cracks me up.
But she can rock the intense look like it's her job. Too die for cute.
Miss S....every look is fab on her.

Sweet busy Mr. H ... I loved anything he chose to give me. By the way, why are doors the number one favorite of all 2 year olds. I won't complain though, it gives me a few seconds.

The oldest Miss M...I fell in love with this look.
But then I die over her sweetness.
One of the main reasons I met up with this fab 5 was for a group picture.
{insert laugh when including a 2 year old}
While I did capture a few...the outtakes keep me laughing. Mr. H had his mother running circles keeping him in one space for a millisecond and the 3 ring circus put on to entertain him should've been filmed for a Saturday Night Live skit.

Although the the expressions might not be frame worthy pictures, the moments were hysterical.

{side note}
I have one spot left for my April mini session. As always, scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Email me if you're interested. If you want it....email me and it's yours.

Oh how I love twins |Tempe Twin Photographer

Monday, March 29, 2010

Here are the two cuties I was lucky enough to photograph yesterday. And how I loved each second with this 6 month old set of twin boys. Yep...I've got a thing for twin babies, especially at this sweet age. Honestly, one of the happiest ages to photograph a baby.

This shoot was fun...F U N! And, super sweet to meet these boys and they're mother who is already the master of juggling two babies.

On a personal note:

I've been without the internet for one too many days now, and so happy to have it back. {sigh}

I'll definitely be back with more from my recent sessions.

All new |Queen Creek Child Photographer

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Okay, so I lied...again, I couldn't resist.

Sweet Miss S ...
...and her new glasses.

Now, I'm officially off the computer. Really, I really am.

It was FABulous! |Queen Creek Child Photographer

Today's shoot... was INCREDIBLE! It was filled with 4 of my favorite girls and their super adorable little guy. All cousins I have to add.

While I seriously...just came home, I couldn't resist processing afew.

And, for those that have a two year old know that they aren't exactly the biggest fans of staying still for a second to have their picture taken. This sweet little man had his mother exhausted and me cracking up.
{I kept having a flashback of my son's 1st year pictures}

The other entertainment of this age is the on and off feelings.

Here is Mr. H not groovin' too much on our ideas.

And then two seconds later...getting his groove on for a split second. Love this little man and love that I've been watching him grow since he was days old.

This one I couldn't resist processing...
Oh how I {heart} her.
While I have oodles more pictures calling my name, I'm up to my eyeballs in the latest and greatest of my family happenings. And while editing pictures is one of my favorite ways of procrastinating, they'll have to wait at least a few more hours.

But, I will add I had some time to catch up with an uber sweet girl that is strutting her cuteness in a new pair of glasses. Oh how I love when I am able to photograph this new stage. Just you wait for her.

Where I'll be....

Monday, March 22, 2010

...in less than two weeks.

I was completely honored when I was asked to photograph an event for the wonderful cause supporting children that suffer from child abuse.

And, I was also in saddened awe of the cases of child abuse that are cared for at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Actually, stories that literally brought me to my knees with tears flowing down my cheeks. Stories of abuse with not just children but babies...wee 2 week old babies.

One question...why? Why does such abuse happen to the innocent beauties that bring such happiness to our world.

Beauties that make us stop in a store from the sweet smile of a child in a stroller or a baby happily looking at their mommy with unprejudiced love. Why?

Why does this happen? How unfair it is to a sweet spirit that just wants to be loved?

I'll be honest, it makes me sick...

Please join me, and the others registered, to take a stand against child abuse.

........................................................
This cause is truly dear to my heart ... in my "pre-children" days I spent 8 years working with children that battled to overcome emotional and behavioral disabilities.

I couldn't even begin to share with you the depth of horrifying stories 80% of my students carried with them. Stories of the sickening things done to them that contributed to their daily battles. Stories of acts they witnessed, abuse they personally experienced and struggled learning to cope with.

The saddening story of children suffering from sexual, emotional and physical abuse at one point in their lives is ... it DOESN'T end there. It STAYS with them. It HAUNTS them. And they carry it with them each day. It's a part of their life that NEVER goes away. Abuse is abuse at any capacity...whether it's a one time act or repeated.

It's sick. It's wrong. It's maddening that it happens to our children. Our babies.

Yes...this is a topic I'm passionate about. It's the topic that can get me right to my heart.

Oh to be this cute! |Queen Creek Child Photographer

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Today I was happy to meet up with this sweet little lady...it was so worth the wait.

And...any wise girl knows that you are instantly fabulous in red shoes. I'm definitely thinking I see super cute red heels in her future.

A girl thing!

Just yesterday I was at the mall with all three kids in tow. While we were there, a sweet woman was helping me and commented on my girls. It wasn't long until I told her my girls were twins...typically follows after I'm asked if they are close in age.

I always giggle from the questions and sweet compliments on how different they look. Which they are as different in personality as in looks. She then asks if my Cam was the girly girl and Cash was my more tomboy. And, she's thinking this as Cam was pinked out with a bow and Cash wearing her new favorite skinny jeans, typical black shirt and her hair down. I couldn't help but laugh as that couldn't be more opposite.

It's just that Cam lets me put whatever on her and really would be fine if I dressed her in her brother's clothes. BUT, Cash is all about choosing her clothes, hair and shoes...at times is very frustrating. No kidding, yesterday she looked at her closet while picking her outfit, she told me she doesn't like her clothes and needs to go buy new ones. Eeek...I'm in trouble.

She's also my little lover of makeup. Here is her first attempt at putting on makeup she got for her birthday.

My Cash...my girly girl!

....................................................................

I'm going for a long shot here but.....
by any chance does anyone need a super fabulous rental in Queen Creek. It's an absolutely adorable 2200 sq ft home on a quiet, very family oriented street with neighbors that are a dream...really, the super kid friendly kind.

And, it's my first and only house for the past 6 years. I love this house!

If you should know of anyone interested, send me an email at tpqueencreek{at}yahoo.com. I would so appreciate it.

The unposed pose! |Chandler Family Photographer

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Every family I work with, agrees that their heart truly loves the more candid pictures. The relaxed pictures. The fun pictures. The pictures we want to remind us of our family, at that time.

When the sweet K family arrived, they had shared that they really wanted the more "unposed" type of pictures.

While this all sounds easy, it really can be hard. Why?

Well, I know personally that when the camera is pointed at me...I freeze. I freeze trying to be sure I have that smile, the flattering angle, everyone's in a good position and then again...I freeze and wait for the camera to click before talking. Sadly, when I do all that...I spend more time working hard at achieving a picture that is great for hanging in a frame but really isn't how I want to remember my family.

Sure, I want that "money" shot...the picture my parents want but a shoot of my family is more about capturing my family. As we are, not the perfectly centered picture in a frame.

Arriving to a photoshoot relaxed is the key in getting great pictures. Starting a session ready to have fun is so key.

I always start my sessions with posing. Posing everyone in the picture to start our time together. I tell each of my clients that I start with a pose and then the fun happens from there.

There tends to be tons of talking...on my end of course. I'm super chatty during my sessions. I'm typically chatting to get everyone in the groove. I give direction. I bounce up and down for the kids. And it's not unusual to hear me sing...mostly popular kid tunes.

And that is where the fun takes place...all while taking pictures. I shoot a lot. I shoot for the in between shots that I KNOW I'll love. I shoot to weed out the blinked eyes, the mid smiles and other outtakes. If I photographed slower...I know I'll miss what could've been caught with faster clicks. And, let's face it...it's digital and not a film camera.

Whether you have a session with me, or another photographer...remember to relax and trust me, you'll love the outcome.

The K family arrived for their shoot ready for fun and their outcome definitely didn't disappoint. But, they might have left wondering if I missed the medication for my wackiness.

I had the perfect time photographing a very sweet girl ready to graduate in two months.

Look who I caught trying to sit up! |Chandler Baby Photographer

Monday, March 15, 2010

This session was a dream to photograph.

I've been waiting to photograph baby D for 4 months. And his cuteness did not disappoint.
{sweet baby D's mommy just caught my huge typo error on his age...not 6 months but 4...this little sweetie is quite the big boy for trying to sit at 4 months! I'm impressed and think I might have his mommy hug him a big longer for this one!}

Let's just say, this family was incredible keeping up with the spinning ideas in my head. And they were amazing in flowing with my spinning mind.

He grew up on me! |Chandler Baby Photographer

Sunday, March 14, 2010

It's hard to believe that it's been almost a year since I first photographed this little man.

In my photographer brain, the newborns I photograph don't grow up. To me, I can't see them past their newborn phase. But then I meet up with them when they turn a year and I just sigh...as mother photographer.

This little man has been walking and running since he was 8 months. I'll be honest, when his mom shared with me how active he is...I was preparing with my running shoes. And guess what...he was getting his modeling groove on with quiet feet. LOVE it and love him!
As an Arizonian, there is no other choice but to get use to lots of browns and desert. Happily, we have had 60% of our annual rainfall this year alone. The rain has brought us lots of spring beauty in early March. I love the feel of green weeds that are filling our fields.

This family is ultra sweet and filled with laughs. This picture is so them.

Mini session update: In the next few days I'll be scheduling April's mini session. If you're thinking a mini session is for you, send me an email at tamiproffitt{at}yahoo{dot}com and you'll be one of the first to know. As of now, I'm only planning on scheduling one day for mini's in April.

Baby fever |Queen Creek Baby Photographer

Thursday, March 11, 2010

So...what does a photographer do when she takes her daughter to dance class and is surrounded by babies?

Why, photograph them of course!
{hat courtesy of Cricket Creations}
This little impromptu shoot was super fast and sweet...and I had the perfect model needed for a new hat.
And this little cutie is the daughter to a mother I adore and a grandmother I think is the sweetest.

She was also a sweet newborn that is in one of my all time favorite pictures .

Sorry, but I'll probably be short on words for a bit...life has hit crazy busy around here.

.............................................................................................................
But I do have to write...I'm thankful for incredibly sweet people. Yesterday I received one of the nicest emails from a client...the kind that makes me smile, tear up and give a big sigh. It was just what was needed right now.

And then yesterday...or maybe it was two days before, my memories MUSH...a photographer I met way back when my twins were babies in a mom's group, back when I was a train wreck trying to attempt to manage twin babies....emailed me. She had asked if I'd be up for meeting to catch up and chat...and of course, adult time is good time for me. Off I went to have a little chat. I was sweetly surprised when she treated me to coffee (nectar of the gods) and we talked almost three hours.

I also have to give her super big kudos as life has been crazy for me and what I think are words coming out of my mouth probably is just sounds....and she lasted that long. I also walked in looking like I probably hadn't showered in weeks. Thanks Rebekha...for the coffee and ultra sweet kind words you shared with me. You are just what this gal needed.

And the winner is....

...comment 33. Happily selected by Random.org.

To Velvet Brick, I'll be emailing you shortly.

It was exciting to read each of the entries that came in for this necklace. I want to thank all of you for sharing what you want to bottle up to always remember. Everyone has a difference reason for photography...but it all comes back to what we love.

I also hope everyone had fun getting to know Canela...she's really an artist with her jewelry. And, remember that you can have 10% off your purchase for mentioning you saw her on my blog.
............................................................................................
Up next...I'm happy to share with each of you a very talented photographer friend of mine that I can't keep to myself anymore.

Here's a hint...she's the master of birth photography.

A bit more.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Ah, the workshop was perfect...just what I needed. I'm so happy I was able to attend....it filled up within 10 minutes of registration opening two months ago.

And each second of the workshop was worth the investment...

Tiffany Burke, from Follow Your Art , was the perfect teacher and gave us assignments that were so helpful.

A few of my favorites from the workshop.

There is nothing better than making a roadtrip... with other photographers....and kidless.

I went with two great girls, Leah and Micaela. Leah and I met almost two years ago...whom by the way is the mother of two sets of twins (all natural)....and is the sweetest person. The kind where if you don't fall in love with her at first meeting...something is for sure wrong with you. Micaela and Leah have been friends for years...and this was the first time we met. And...let's just say I ended my roadtrip with a new bestie. She's my soul sista!

And they were so patient with me during each emergency drive thru for my Starbucks candied coffee...SO yummy!

I LOVE these girls!

*side note: I'm still dying laughing from the calls from friends asking if that was me on the rock! Um...nope, it's not me and honestly I don't look remotely like her....take away 14 years, add a fab figure and perfect skin...then maybe it could be a comparison, but that would be a stretch! The cuteness on the rock is the first girl pictured on this post.
