Just plain fun | Gilbert Family Photographer

A family session with an 18 month old is always an exciting session.  And as much as I tell each family, it's just the age that's filled with curiosity, exploding independence, nonstop activity and me being the entertainment for the entire family.

There were chickens nearby during this session, I made a few pathetic attempts to show off my chicken talk skills to impress the little guy…but it just wasn't good enough.  But, his parents thought my skills sounds were funny…even funnier since I'm sure I sounded more like a dying chicken.  Next time, I think I'll just rent a chicken costume and cross my fingers I'll be a little more interesting than the real deal.

The last time I photographed this little guy, he was just crawling.  This time, I was able to count my running around for extended cardio time.    He may be super fast, but he is one happy and easy going little guy.  And very determined to find those chickens no matter how we tried hiding him from them.

My favorite part of the session was when I'd lay down taking pictures, he'd get up and run right to me with the biggest grin.  Seriously one cute and fun little guy.

After doing everything we could to keep him from the farm animals everywhere, we just gave in and introduced him to his new friends.

I gave in and eventually gave him a lollipop.  I typically keep little toys for the kids to pick from, but the candy was definitely a winner with him.  The mess he made was making us laugh.

A few of my favorite outtakes.
