Getting the creative itch!

PLEASE READ...this lengthy post I swear has purpose.

Having been in germ lockdown, manning the sicklies and now myself...I'm getting itchy. Itchy that I need my creative outlet. I.HAVE.A.CREATIVE.SHOOT.IN.MIND!

My creative shoots is another grounder for me...it's what can break me out of the stale rut I can feel myself getting in. When I find myself just shooting...shooting without thinking of how I can make a picture...that much better...
whether it's getting more connected with clients, bringing something different than the norm to a shoot, seeing my locations with a different view than what how it looks at the surface...

The beautiful picture that's the header of my blog....{look above:)}....was one of my creative outlets. For weeks, I had had my eye on that wheat field that was just outside of my twin's dance studio. A few times a week, I'd drive past it and think....I so want to do something there. I'd have ideas pop in and out of my head but nothing that really stayed. UNTIL, I spoke with a local photographer who had just had her baby. When we were talking, she mentioned that she had a pram that she wanted to use with her baby for his birth announcements but not sure what to do with it yet...BABAM! The creative brainchild was birthed...figuratively speaking of course...we then planned to meet for the shoot.

It's that simple...all that's needed it something that starts the creative thinking...a field, an outfit, a spunky personality...and my mind starts swirling with ideas. NOT that all my ideas have reasoning, or mean anything to another...but that's the beauty of art. It really, only has to mean something to the creator.

So...the real purpose of this post is ...I've found a location that is sparking a creative shoot. This shoot is supposed to take place tomorrow but...I've lost my voice. Now how does this affect a creative shoot...well, I talk...I talk a lot...and not being able to talk isn't really a creative challenge I'm up for. Actually, losing my voice gives me mild panic attacks...I can't stand it when I can't have full control to express myself WHENever I want. It's like being locked in a small room...seriously, makes me frustrated as all heck! Makes my skin crawl.

So, send me some serious healing vibes to me so that I can have loads of fun tomorrow. I'm way to excited to postpone it. Plus...I've already rescheduled a shoot due to this germ crap and I so don't like schedule changes...totally screws up my workflow.

Right now, I'm sitting here crossing my fingers for tomorrow being a vocal day!

AND...here's a stretch...I have another idea that's swirling...but I need a fountain. If I was picky, I'd say a fountain with architectural details...but, that's probably asking too much. So, I'll stick with just finding a fountain that I could shoot at. SOOOOO, if you know of a fountain in a location that would be flexible for a photographer...PLEASE share.

I have the kids, I have the wardrobe....but I need the fountain! If you're up for sharing, email me at tamiproffitt@yahoo.com or leave me a comment in this post. If your location works for this venture...there will be one SUPER fun prize for sharing! I promise you'll love!

Tami you amaze me ... even being so sick, having NO voice BUT still have a brain. It never seems to stop. I'll try my best to think of a fountain ... there may be one at Seville possibly. I feel like I've seen a cool one somewhere and that's all I can think of. Big help huh? Maybe you could call there. Good luck tomorrow, I hope you are feeling better and get your voice back. LYG, N

Feeling like crap is the worst when you're getting ready to shoot so I'm sending you all the good vibes I can muster!! I'm so intrigued about your shoot... can't wait for the blog post! Good Luck!! As for fountains the only ones I can think of right now are the ones at Dana Park Village on Val Vista and US 60/Baseline...

Hey Tami! There's a beautiful fountain at Stonebridge Manor (where Jeremy and I got married). It's the same place Jodie got married. Do you know where it is? I don't know if they would let you shoot there but I don't see why not. Anyway, just a thought!

Tami I so hear you about the awful loss of control when you lose your voice! Ok, kind of corny...but my girls just played in this fountain today between chipotle and paradise on Rittenhouse and Ocotillo. I know its a dinker but incase you get kicked out of everywhere else :)

Your shot of the baby in the wheat is SOOOO beautiful. What an awesome idea to shoot a baby in the field + the pram is an added bonus! I'm sure we'll see pics of babies in wheat fields turning up on lots of blogs now thanks to you!!!

It's SO much fun to roll with an idea and make that shot yours! You go girlie!!!

Can't wait to see what you come up with creatively in fountains! Yea!
