Another creative venture! |Queen Creek Child Photographer|

Again, I've driven by this old orchard, filled with overgrown GORGEOUS weeds a ton!  And each time I drive past, I think....how fun it would be to have a session there!  Then the day came...the day I fullfilled my creative urge to have a shoot at a location I wanted!  AND I knew who exactly I wanted it with...a neighbor family!

So...next thing I knew, I was rambling off my idea to the mother of these cuties...with the occasional utterance of....
"That is if you want to!  That is if you want to help a photographer out!"

I was completely over the moon happy when she equally shared my excitement for this shoot!  I was excited that she was excited and then later finding out she honestly didn't have the slightest idea of where I was talking about and really couldn't follow my description since I sounded like I had ONE too many cups of coffee!  BUT that she put trust in my zainy idea!  Oh...I love when others follow my vision without question!

We then chatted on the phone a bit more about wardrobe, what I wanted, how I didn't want her to buy anything, what she had in the closets, more of what I wanted...and what honestly were ramblings!

Then today came...the day of our planned shoot!  AND it was THE day that a typical Arizona "random" rain storm hit...and hit the small pocket I planned for our shoot in!  Talk about literally having MY parade rained on!  I seriously was like that sad puppy starring out a pet store window with a disappointed yet hopeful look...but instead starring out my driver side window, with my neighbor and her children in the car with me!

I was trying to remain emotionally in control...but what I really wanted to do was SCREAM...scream random dilusional questions with a few choice, colorful words to mother nature about choosing THAT spot for a down pour.  THAT spot....when my neighborhood was a few miles away and didn't see ONE drop of rain!  WHY!?!  But...I kept my frantic emotions inside and kept my surface in control!  Hindsight, I giggle!  I giggle because my neighbor LOVED my idea and was right there with me...crossing her fingers and saying...it will stop any minute!  So we waited it out...and voila...a bit of sun came out! Unfortunately, it only came out for a teeny tiny amount of time!

We then moved fast...I had fifty ga-zillion ideas running through my head and I didn't know which one to start with first!  So I grounded myself and remembered the real reason for the shoot...I had a few test ideas that were my goal but they weren't playing out and I got selfish...I then switched to back up ideas!  I could only imagine how I must have looked to this family...I was literally running around rattling off directives, with..."move here, look here, OH I love your eyes...Oh THAT'S it...you got it...try this...etc.!"  All the while noticing the rapidly fading light over my shoulder...then I was the crazy photographer increasing my ISO to the point of thinking...
"Now let's see what my bad boy camera can REALLY do!"  All because I couldn't end the shoot early!  I'll just say, my camera did not disappoint!  My only regret from today's shoot...I kept my 50 mm f1.4 on the entire time!  I guess I just couldn't waste the one minute it would take to switch lenses!  Talk about the big  L .  A  .  Z  .  Y!

Here is where my ISO got crazy out of control...the next few pictures were shot at some serious ISO!  Cameras these days DON'T mess around...LOVE it!

Here is just a few from today...the best part...their mom offered to give another go at it since our lighting seriously lasted a millisecond...in my mind that is!  AND even rattling off more fun ideas...

To the R family...THANKS to each of you for a wonderful afternoon...as wet, muddy and brief as it was!  Thanks for not bolding laughing at me for the weird noises I made, tolerating my bosiness, entertaining me with your willingness and for your pure sweetness!  Til next time!

To my sa-weet Nikon...Oh how I love thee!  I love how you whisper sweet nothings to me and make me smile!  Thanks for being you and not disappointing!  And if I were a camera, I would marry you!

AND...one of my favorite siblings shots...I hope to have many more next time!  I see each of their personalities in this!

One last thing...tomorrow is the big day I photograph my first serious wedding!  The first wedding where the bride isn't a good friend!  Honestly...I'm nervous...like shaking in my boots nervous!  LIKE...I've woken up each night for the last week with fears!  So...if any of my photographer readers do weddings...I would smile BIG for any advice... in comments or email!  Just please share...I need them right now!  AND FYI...I do not ever, ever, ever, ever plan on becoming a wedding photographer!
