...and his family!
Okay, nicknames aside.... funny story... about two months ago a fellow photographer, M, and I planned a trip to a friend's ranch for a creative maternity shoot featuring my prego tummy. This super fun maternity session plan then turned into photographing eachother's family, my maternity session and having my friend's family photographed.
Once we were all at the ranch, time literally flew by and before we knew it the time for photography fun had started. Move forward a bit....and then WHOP...next thing we knew M's hubs came in with a MONSTROUS scratch across his face. PLEASE NOTE: the scratch happened JUST as we were starting to load up to drive down to the ranch barn for family portraits. NOW...what are the CHANCES of this happening!
Good thing we all had a great sense of humor and still laughing about it today. NOW...introducing Scarface and his AMAZING photographer wife M!

I am absolutely in love with this couple...for many reasons with the main one being they are F.U.N.! AND...M...is her smile not just contagious!
While every mother is in love with her children, M's love radiats with each word spoken, each touch and each look with her children. She literally oozes infatuation for her children. Throughout her mini family session, I could find M snickering, kissing, tickling, whispering, and simply loving her children. Now, who wouldn't want to forever have a moment of complete and utter love captured.
While the moment is fleeting with fast children...it only turns into the moments that are filled with smiles. To remember how just a whisper, or giggle, from a mother can bring the warmest memories that lead to the same smile 10, 20, or 3o years later. THIS is what I love about photography. Remembering how a daughter's first love truly is her mother.

While photographing another photographer is not only nerveracking, it's EXHILIRATING! It's exhilirating to have full creative control and to be allowed to have FUN! I loved every minute spending my weekend getting to know my friend's family and enjoying time with my own...while roasting marshmallows, hotdogs, eating tons of home cooked food, fireworks, a campfire, seeing deer in a pasture (aka front yard), chatting, editing way late into the night, watching my children enjoy the WIDE OPEN SPACE, and just breathing while wrapping up the crazy season of holiday portraits. M and I couldn't help but just breathe...and feel so relaxed.
AND NOW...be sure to stop back by to check out a few pictures of M's cute little ones....OH, I just loved them!

Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm located in south Gilbert, Arizona. I have twin daughters and one little boy...between the three of them, they keep my days busy between gymnastics and soccer. My children and husband are my biggest support each day.

Loved ALL the pictures and now will think of "Scarface" differently. Sounded like a wonderful weekend! LYG, N
That cracked me up! It's always the kids who get scratches on their faces before a photo shoot. I love that they looked like they had a super sense of humor about it, and you did a great job photo shopping it out. ro
What a cute family Maggie has! I am jealous! Maybe next fall we can swap! I am so excited that your little boy is coming soon! I bet you are too!
