Growing up!

Sunday, September 28, 2008

As a teacher, I had several instructional assistants... about 7 over the 8 years....three of my assistants became my good friends. The mother of this cutie was an assistant of mine, is now a teacher and a best friend for the past 9 years and one of those friends that is a permanent in my life. Along with her friendship, I've loved every minute watching her children grow up and being a part of their lives.

Today, her two children filled a mini session spot. Her time was the last of the day, as soon as she arrived I had a larger plan for her session which involved grundgy, run down, and just plain scary buildings. I drive through this area every now and again, when I do I can't help but dream of how gorgeous they would be for an urban location. The problem is finding a client to see the beauty I saw.

At the start of this session, my eyes literally began filling with tears. While my waterworks could be blamed on my pregnancy horomones...it truly was because I've watched an 8 year old boy grow to be this stunning 17 year old young man. A young man that is nothing but respectful, honest, and full of integrity. AND...he just loves my little girls and they love him.

AND....I am so out of touch with coolness!  I was glad to see the little photo session didn't get in the way of his social life!  I still have NO CLUE how to not only receive but send a text message.
