A little mountain vacation!

Monday, March 31, 2008

I just returned home from a very needed mountain vacation with my family. My husband's parents have a cabin in the White Mountains, which makes for a perfect family get away.

My husband is a total mountain man. Tall, burly, rough, and good lookin'! There probably isn't a part of Arizona that he hasn't been to. Every trip we take to the mountains, he always finds the most beautiful places to show me. While we usually fill our trip to the cabin with fishing trips, this time we found all of the lakes covered in ice. It was actually very beautiful and gave me a different view of the area. Although the lakes were still covered in ice, the ice was melting and creating amazing waterfalls and streams throughout the forest. Here is a gorgeous waterfall down a small hill! What is funny is I've fished this lake at least a dozen times and have never imagined a waterfall here.

My sweet blonde C! She was in awe of all her new discoveries.
My other C. She just spotted the waterfall we were hiking to. Check out her great hiking shoes! My husband and I just laughed at how two, VERY outdoors parents could have children in the forest in mary jane shoes. My little exploring babies! If you can't tell, they are never thrilled when mommy is pointing the camera in their direction. Their expressions always scream...."Again Mommy!"
The mountain man and his family. Mountain man...hunting boots, daughters....mary jane shoes, mountain man's wife...Ugg boots! What's wrong with this picture!

This will be the first of our gazillion trips to the mountains this year. I'm already planning our first 2008 camping trip!

What beautiful pictures Tami, AND, you're finally in some. When I saw all of you I just wanted to be there with you! The one you took with the waterfall reminded me of a Bev Doolittle painting ~ you are AMAZING and I love you dearly!
