My latest....

{tap tap tap} Um, is anyone there....

The last couple times I've opened my blog, I think I hear crickets chirping... I giggle when I think there was once a time, not that long ago, that I kept this blog updated almost every day. Life has definitely changed these last few months and my blog has gotten awfully lonely. So sorry blog.....and to who ever is left reading.

When thinking of the updates to share...the first thing to mind is my kids. My kids and I have been enjoying endless days together and me enjoying the joys of going to bed early.

With my schedule changing this fall, I have my new workflow in place...and ahem...I'm actually taking weekends off. Which is a first in long time.

One of the biggest "happenings" around my house is Easton in the process of using the toilet. SAY WHAT...yep, you read that right. When I told my sister he was doing big boy things, she said...."Hello overachiever!" I couldn't help but laugh and blame this whole big boy business on my little guy. A couple months ago, he started showing an interest...and I just remember Camryn doing the same thing a 18 months and me totally not ready to make the committment. Then, when I postponed the potty training business until 2 (for my sheer laziness)...it ended up taking almost 7 months. 7 loooooong grueling months. I ended up regretting not doing it when she showed me she was ready and I definitely wasn't going to pass it up with Easton.

So, here we are....my little guy being a big boy. And, doing big boy business. I still can't believe it and I'm loving each second that he's proud of himself.

On top of that, after not talking at all, not even babbling...in the middle of May, Easton had tubes placed in his ears. Very slowly he started talking and now, he is chatting nonstop. We absolutely love it. It's pure, sweet music to our ears. The list I've been keeping of his first words is not almost 75 words long. Simply amazing.

My little guy, who really isn't so little anymore. Most times, he's mistaken for being almost 3.

My monkey, at 20 months old.
A friend shared one of her kid's favorite books...and now Easton is a big fan of it.
If you're a fan of children's books, this is a must for you to check out.
I just love how I caught a glimpse of his teeny dimple.
My little guy always has me smiling big...even when I find him on my kitchen counter tap dancing.

..................................................
One more thing...today I met with two fabulous ladies for a little camera refresher and intro. While I'm always flattered with emails showing interest in a class, I will not be offering any more "Get to Know Your Camera" classes this year. I'll be evaluating this service for 2011...with some revamping. If you'd like to be on the first to know regarding the release of this in the new year....send in an email and I'll put you on a list for when I send information out next year.

She 1! |Gilbert Baby Photographer

Last week, I was happy to see sweet baby K since our last photoshoot together...back when she was a few weeks old.

Happy 1st birthday sweet K!

This little sweetness loved her little water breaks...and I thought it was too cute.

Thanks again for a great morning...and filling it with a fabulous memories!

My little update, to see more of what I'm up to and my latest sessions...following me over here! Today I had a great session with two boys I'm always happy to see each year. This year we had part of our session on a baseball field, and I was one happy photographer hanging with the boys. I even attempted to hit a ball and failed miserably! Uh oh...I think I need to brush up on my hitting.

Last Saturday was the session to kick off my fall season. And it was absolutely perfect.

Walking in to see this adorable 2 week old baby girl gave me serious baby fever. She arrived at 6 pounds and is oh so tiny.

I loved every single second with her family. Especially, the chatting about all that is the most needed things to have for a baby....
My top 3 favorites!
1. good swaddling blanket (the gauze kind)
2. Aquaphor (one of greatest creations known to man)
3. formula mixer

This is such a gorgeous quilt! I love looking around the house and baby room for pieces of their lives to include in their shoot. It was love at first sight when I saw this quilt...especially happy to hear that her grandmother brought it home for her from Hawaii! LOVE the colors and all around happiness of this quilt.
Knowing how her father has a thing for tattoos...which I love...I wanted to include a picture of them. I was ultra happy to see a little tribute to Johnny Cash too.

I was also ultra happy for a session with a baby girl...I was needing the perfect model for a new baby hat line made by the talented Joyce, from Cricket Creations.

To see more of Joyce's baby props, modeled by the sweet Reegyn, go HERE. There's a few more of Reegyn that I sent to the designer. Her work can also be found on Etsy, HERE. I'm hoping to post pictures of Easton wearing one of her cute monkey hats soon...too die for cute!

Angela and Justin, thanks for a great morning and getting to know the both of you a bit more! I'm excited to watch your family grow.

A little look back into time |Arizona Family Photographer

While working in my office today, I began bouncing around in one of my hard drives and came across a folder that I think I created as a lame attempt to be organized.

It was a folder of favorites...hmm, I think they're on my website. Not quite sure....how sad is that...sad that I don't even remember what's on my website. That might be a huge hint that I haven't updated it in way too long.

When I opened the folder, I thought...what's in here? {me=horrible organizer}

I smiled looking through each one of these pictures, among others. I was smiling thinking back to each session and remembering each one like they were yesterday. The giggles. The random moments. The off the wall comments that came out of my mouth. The little one that I could've talked forever with.

It was just a reminder of how much I love my job and love each family I work with.

To think of what's on all my hard drives...makes me giddy when I stumble on pictures like these. One of these days, I need to dig around in another one.

Here's a few-one too many-pictures that I had to bring out on my trip down memory lane with you.
...................................................
This little guy was my second shoot since deliveries Easton. While I think I went back to work too early, I was happily filled my nights between nursing editing pictures from his session.

I get to see this little piece of sweetness every so often...and I just love her.
This sweet family was visiting in Arizona from North Carolina. The little miss was my soul sister...just full of giggles and loads of personality. I could've spend days with her and soaked each second up.
This little miss....loved her! The day of her session was hot and miserably humid. The mosquitos were horrible and it was hilarious following around her toddling self. At the end of the session, we were actually threatened to have the sherriff's office called on us for being on a property...which we were legally on...but one of the owners was a grump. I would've loved to have seen the officer called greet us and this cute girl...what he would've thought. I'm sure that person got a HUGE lump of coal in their stocking for Christmas that year.
This little dynamic brother/sister duo...were visiting all the way from the east coast as well.
{sigh}
One of the gorgeous mother's of twins I've photographed. Loved this session and it reminded me of my newborn twin days.

This set of brothers I'm head over heals for. Their father was a proud designer of the local Gilbert park we took pictures at.
This little guy still melts my heart. Such a peaceful picture. I absolutely big {puffy} heart his mother's hands holding his....surely never going to let go of him.
Total crack up!
This...this picture...is an all time favorite of mine. I'm happy to always look above my desk to see it framed on my shelf.
Loved this little miss...a little soccer player and all girl!
One beautiful set of twins...totally connected, totally different and best friends.

I remember meeting this little miss for the first time when she was about 6 months. I've fallen in love with her and her big sister.

So exciting to see this set of brothers in a couple weeks....we have fun plans for their session. I'm dying to see them for the third time.
Another set of perfect twins!

LOVE this set of girls...spending their last days together until they welcomed the newest girl in their family. Once baby sister arrived, she was my first session off my maternity leave...
I couldn't say enough about this set of twins and little sister....only thing different with these three is they have a cute baby sister.

I love each of their names...Piper, Landis, Lela and baby sister Phoebe.
I absolutely loved going through old pictures of mine. While I definitely saw where my processing has changed between sessions....one thing stayed the same, I loved capturing life. Capturing the little moments in life...the one thing that I love giving each of my clients.

One of our favorites! |Queen Creek Child Photographer

Monday, September 13, 2010

A couple weeks ago, I had another chance to photograph one of our ultimate babysitters. It's actually a proud moment to write that my husband has known her since she was born. Her family is a long time friend to my husband's family and I'm beyond happy to have them be a part of our life.

I have complete and utter awe for her. She is an amazing athlete. And it doesn't hurt she comes from a long line of athletes in her family. Can't foget to mention that her grandfather is the all time, best high school baseball coach in Gilbert's history.

I just love this picture of her. It's all that I think of when I hear her name. She is 100% confident in herself at 15...and full of giggles and smiles.

We love our Nan!
We spent a little time taking pictures of her with one of her best friends since she was a little girl. Love the coordinating shirts!

Love these two girls! Nan and Alex, thanks for a fabulous time! I'm still smiling and hoping to see the both of you soon.

{side note}: There are a number of reasons I love our new house. One of my favorites is that we can walk out of our house and get a gorgeous view of the moutain range ... and this fabulous field that's in front of our house. It's perfect for when we want to get out as a family to either play soccer or walk the track. Our house even made a little debut in this picture...it's the house in the left side of the picture....well, it's the roof that you can see. I love the new chapters in our family album since we've moved here.
